Drinking Cool Water Helps Maintain Good HealthWater Has Been Recognised as Health Fountain From Ancient Times
There has been lots written about drinking water as a health promoter and this still stands even today.
It is common knowledge that drinking water is healthy and people are told since childhood to drink at least "x" number of glasses a day to keep their body hydrated and maintain their good health. Luckily, water is free and it is available practically all over the world in each household. Tradition has it that individuals should drink water not only every time they are thirsty, but even before. If one is thirsty, this means they are already dehydrated and people should not get to that stage. Drinking water should be something that a person does automatically very often per day, without even thinking about it. Why Drinking Plenty of Cool Water Is a MustA person's muscles, organs and skin consist of over 70% of water and this percentage should be maintained without going much below, or else the person becomes ill. Food and drinking should provide the body with all the fluids necessary to replace the lost water through excretion, as otherwise the water stored in the body is lost and the body becomes eventually thinner and drier -- basically dehydrated. This is why drinking plenty of water is so important, particularly in hot countries. But how much water should a person drink? Doctors say that a regular, healthy person should drink approximately two to three liters of water a day. A person who is sick should drink more that that, up to three to four liters, and a person who has various skin problems should drink the most water (up to five liters a day). It is very easy to drink two to three liters of water a day if the water is spread nicely and evenly throughout the waking hours. This is one way to split it evenly per day: in the early morning, drink 1 liter; between morning and noon, drink half a liter; drink another half liter after lunch going towards afternoon, and drink one liter in the evening. It is important though to avoid drinking water half an hour before each meal and one hour after meals, as this dilutes digestive juices; however, eating meals that contain liquid, such as soups, is recommended. What Should the Temperature of Drinking Water Be?Another common question asked is what temperature the drinking water should be. If the individual is healthy, the best temperature is anything from cold to room temperature. Avoiding ice cold water is recommended even for healthy people. If the person is feverish and is sweating, cool water should be often consumed. Even if individuals do not follow these guidelines to the letter, it is important for everyone to understand that drinking water often should not be forgotten. People need water in their bodies and by consuming lots of water regularly each day, it will help each person maintain their health as well as prevent many diseases. One of the best ways to be able to drink lots of water every day is having a water cooler dispenser at home or in the office. This stores plenty of cool and fresh water which is so inviting that forgetting to keep oneself hydrated will not be a problem at all. Sources: mayoclinic.com cdc.gov
