Drinking more water can lead to weight loss, better looking skin, and has even been proven to be a method of cancer prevention.

It has become common knowledge over the years that drinking water is good for the body. The human body is made primarily of water, and losing even a small percentage of it without replenishment can be detrimental. But, recently, the public is finding more compelling reasons to imbibe the elixir of life. Among the many, three of them are:

  • Weight Loss
  • Better Looking Skin
  • Cancer Prevention

Drinking More Water Helps With Weight Loss

If your kidneys are water deprived then one of the duties of your liver is to pick up the extra slack when needed. According to the weight loss site inch-aweigh.com this very action of the liver aiding the kidneys results in a slower metabolism since the liver is unable to metabolize the fats that it normally would. As a result, the body will store more fat. Essentially, it is a type of physiological procrastination. Just as drinking water was put off so is burning, or passing, fat.

Drinking Water Helps With Better Looking Skin

There are many proven methods to achieve clear, healthy looking skin. For those who do not wish to commit hundreds of dollars to such programs as the ProActiv Solution, it might be wise to commit to the cost effective method of drinking more water.

Healthy-Skincare.com's article on this subject states that although most problems that deal with the epidermis cannot be dealt with internally, it has been proven that proper hydration helps eliminate sunken eyes as well as circles that form under them. Additionally, skin "plumpness" has been shown to have been in correlation with drinking proper amounts of water.

Water as a Method of Cancer Prevention

Believe it or not, drinking water can help prevent cancer very simply. When a person takes in more fluids they have a tendency to urinate more often. When this happens the carcinogens that have been filtered through the kidneys will be forced out of the bladder. The consumption of water, very simply, flushes carcinogens that could have been sitting in the bladder much longer had proper hydration not have been exercised by its owner, thus, increasing the chances of bladder cancer later in life.

Can we Drink Too Much Water?

Like all things, too much of a good thing is not always a good thing. And so goes it with H2O. The human body carries a delicate balance. Among the ingredients of a healthy lifestyle is sodium. When too much water is consumed in relation to other things a state of hyponatremia can set in. Hyponatremia is when sodium concentrations in the plasma are lower than normal. According to doctors at the Mayo Clinic the results can be disastrous to include rapid brain swelling, coma, and death.

Drinking more water in a responsible manner can lead the human body to look and feel better on the inside and out, and with the aid of affordable carbon filtration devices such as Brita filters, and high tech systems like eSpring, living healthy can still be fairly easy.

Very educational. I will certainly start drinking more water since cancer tends to run in the family. Well written. Chris Pascale is a great writer, anyone who has read Manson knows that.

I'm glad you liked the article; I personally found it interesting about metabolizing fat. Before writing this I'd thought that fat was just flushed out with the fluid increase.

Thanks for the kudo on my novel as well.
