Mindful Eating

A healthy way to eat everyday.

Sometimes diets don't work because we feel deprived.

Eating mindfully is a great way to enjoy your food and eat what you like. Listening to your body. If we listen closely our body is telling us things. What is it saying?

I want to be healthy. (or I will start breaking down and if you don't listen closer I will die)

Do not over fill me. (or I will rebel and give you heartburn and a tummy ache)

I want healthy foods (or I will get acidic and diseased)

I want less sugar. (or I will get diabetes and my teeth will rot out)

I want more fiber. (or I will get constipated and have week intestines)

I want more fruits and veggies. (or I will have vitamin deficiencies)

I want whole foods. (I will stay fuller long and bother you with hunger so often)

Eat slower. (it takes me a little while to figure out I am full)

Drink water (I am almost always thirsty)

See what I mean? Are you listening?

You do things and you body responds. Become sensitive to it. Your body wants you to.

It is not about dieting, it is about accepting a lifestyle of moderation. Savoring the moments.

Savoring the food. Savoring life. Eating is a joy in life. It is not supposed to make us feel

guilty. Enjoy the sweet and then balance with enjoying the healthy stuff too (whcih becomes sweeter the more we do it).
