Tonight, me and my son ate at Texas Roadhouse. As I have many times before I asked them to give me there gluten free menu. Now, I know what it on it as I do many at other restaurants
that also have gluten free menus but, I do this as an exercise so that they know about my condition and take the proper precautions. Sadly, Texas Roadhouse has chosen to no longer offer it and has apparently deleted it off their website even. The manager explained to me that they could not take *all* the precautions necessary so they just do not want to offer the menu anymore. I can't say this doesn't disappoint me. I think that they should have tried a little harder. I have never gotten sick there. I felt fairly good about eating there too. Most people with a gluten intolerance understand the risks involved in eating out. We enjoy the freedom but understand that mistakes happen.
After I was informed of the deletion of the menu, the manager looked as if me leaving would be a relief to her. I suddenly felt a tad shunned. I stayed and ate anyway. I ordered the way I know is the safest way I could and I am not sick. I feel fine. Sadly, that was my last meal there. Oh well. At least there is still Outback. They even have a gluten free brownie!!!!
